Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Manipur, on June 26, 2026, has issued the Draft Manipur State Policy for Children, 2026, inviting objections and suggestions from stakeholders within 15 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

The following has been stated:

The draft policy aims to establish a comprehensive, rights-based framework for ensuring the survival, protection, development, participation and well-being of children across the State, in alignment with the Constitution of India, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and the National Policy for Children, 2013. The draft also proposes strengthened institutional coordination, community participation, digital and cyber safety measures, mental health and psychosocial support, child-friendly justice mechanisms, capacity building of stakeholders, and convergence with existing child protection laws and welfare schemes. The Social Welfare Department has been designated as the nodal agency for implementation, supported by a Special Task Force on Child Protection, periodic social audits, and a mandatory review of the policy every five years to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement.
